i have a pretty big next few days. i have my three day testing that will begin the lung transplant process. this testing will see if my body can physically handle the transplant and to also make sure my body doesn't have any other underlying conditions that would complicate the process, the surgery, or recovery. im not positive what is all involved but i do know it is a very lengthy detailed process. with lots of xrays, an ekg, ultrasounds, bonescans, immunizations, and the woman told my mom to prepare me to get at least 20 viles of blood drawn!!! whew, think ill have to lie down to get that done!! ya know, i don't know what else ill have to do, so ill TRY and update every day when i get done, but if not every day at the end of the week ill give you a wrap-up. tomorrow is going to be the longest day. we have to be at vanderbilt at 8 and my last appointment is at 2 so im not sure when we'll be done. i think tuesday is a little less involved and wednesday is only one or two appointments. i know one thing- me and mom are going to get A LOT of reading done this week! thats one thing i can look forward to.
im pretty nervous about this week. im hoping to get a lot of questions answered. i dont know what will come next after this process, im sure ill find out at the end of the week.
if you dont hear from me by wednesday, dont worry too much...im probably pooped. ill catch yall up ASAP though!
until then,
leigh allyn
