breathing daily, daily breathing

for you. well- for the average, normal, healthy, every day person...
{this}
is what it takes to breathe.
in-out-in-out-in-out-repeat.
sometimes after exercise, unloading groceries, yard work-you get the picture-
it might take more than "thinking" on your part, to breathe. or maybe not?
maybe you never think about it? i dont know?
to be honest. i dont know what its like not to think about breathing.
for me
{this}
is what it takes to breathe.

i was thinking the other night as i was going to bed how my nightly routine goes before i can put my head on the pillow. what all i have to do to get a good nights sleep. or what i have to do in the morning before putting my feet on the floor so i can get through the day. i thought to myself, "what if i didnt do all of these things?"
i dont have an option. i have to do these things in order to breathe!
i never really THOUGHT about it. i just did it because it's what ive done all of my life.
puffer. vest. nebulizer. now-oxygen.
these things allow me to breathe. without them my lungs would not, i repeat would NOT function properly. these things literally open my tiny lobes and bronchial tube and help me to breathe!
they help keep "things" thinner, and they help minimize the inflammation to allow me to breathe with more ease.

you cant see the air you breathe. unless of course you are outside and it is 25 degrees, then, of course you can see the vapors of your breath. but otherwise, you would have no earthly idea what you were breathing. but you still go on your daily routine not once questioning the fact that you are breathing... i wonder sometimes why would some people say "i cant see God, so why should i believe he is there?" or "how could i ever believe in something thats not there for me to physically see?" i have never understood why someone would question Gods existence or His plan. yes, i know sometimes it is hard to understand why bad things may happen. but, everything, and i mean everything happens for a reason. sometimes it is hard to see what good could ever come out of a life changing terrible event. but just trust in the Lord in those hard times and keep your thoughts on Him and you will understand what He has planned for you.
i feel like i am rambling on and on. but i just wanted to put my thoughts into words.

tomorrow is my first day of pulmonary rehab. more breathing. lots of it!
tomorrow is my first of three days in a row at vanderbilt.
pulmonary rehab,
diabetes,
& finally transplant.

im going to be very tired by the end of the week.
pray for my patience this week. i can get irritable when some appointments take longer than expected and that wouldn't help things go smoothly this week.
pray things go well at all three appointments.
pray i understand all the new things im going to learn this week.

ill try and update you every day after each appointment.
i think that would be a lot easier than trying to update all three in one blog.

until then,

leigh allyn

{ps. disregard the fact it says i posted this sat the 11th- it was posted mon the 13}
