i am so so sorry i haven't written all week!!! but you most likely know i have been in the hospital...where they don't have computers or internet access so i couldn't write :( BUT on a happy note I AM HOME and will hopefully be getting better each day! so i will bring you up to date....
over the weekend last weekend i was still sick! saturday was an okay day. i didn't have a fever all day and i was able to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. when i went to bed that night i didn't feel great and when i woke up sunday morning i had a fever and felt awful. i had the fever all day sunday and just felt punk.
i had a dr appt monday at one and knew we had to do SOMETHING to figure out what was going on. this unexplainable fever was not going to happen much longer if i had anything to do with it. when i went back to the room my oxygen levels were really low and they wanted me on oxygen while i was there. i also had a fever of 101.8- the highest it had been yet. dr. willers came into the room and after asking how my weekend went she basically came out and said she wanted to admit me to do a battery of tests to figure out what was wrong. she said i could do them outpatient but it would go ALOT quicker if i was admitted. so i agreed. it wasn't a hard decision. usually i try to fight being admitted, but i knew it was the right thing to do this time and i knew I wanted to figure out what was wrong ASAP. i was admitted by 2:45 that afternoon. i had an xray and a ct scan and numerous blood drawings all by 8 that night. the next morning they wanted numerous urine and stool samples. well...the stool i gave them had lots of blood in it. (gross i know) but it is a good thing i was in the hospital when that happened because i would have freaked out if i were at home and saw that!!!! (God knew where i needed to be) by 3:00 tuesday afternoon i had seen a different dr from a different specialty an hour. i was worn out to say the least. i would lay my head down to take a nap and a new dr would walk in not 15 minutes after closing my eyes! this went on from about 11 in the morning till 3. i was a tad bit irritable to say the least! haha. the GI docs came at about 3 and he said they wanted to do a colonoscopy on wed. because it would answer questions FAST. {remember how last week dr. willers said she thought i had C Diff Colitis and she put me on an antibiotic for it but she didn't take a stool sample because she said she just wanted to treat me for it..well any stool sample i gave in the hospital prob wasn't going to show the C Diff because we were already treating it} well the GI dr said during the colonoscopy they could see the C Diff without question. so for the rest of the day i had to be on a clear liquid diet...then that night i had to drink golytely to clear out my system.. YUCK! that stuff was perhaps the most disgusting stuff i had ever drank in my life. TERRIBLE. ok so the next day {wednesday} my colonoscopy was at 12:30. i basically slept that whole day. and they didn't find anything during the colonoscopy..they said my colon was beautiful! haha. but they STILL think i have the CLASSIC symptoms of C Diff. and thats what they are treating me for. so to bring you to the present. there is no longer blood in my stool. yay!... i am feeling much better. needless to say late at night before bed im a little run down and don't feel as well-overall im feeling alot better. im not having a fever near as often. just in the evening. and it is low grade. my dietitian recommended a probiotic pill to take to get good bacteria to grow in my stomach to keep it healthy and help to fight off the bad bacterias that started this whole thing to begin with. im on antibiotics to get rid of the C Diff. and will call the dr monday to check in and see what they want me to do next.
this weekend is going to be beautiful and im so glad i get to be home for it! my two girls madison and bridgette are spending the weekend with oma, opa, and myself; while their mommy and daddy have an anniversary weekend to themselves. im looking forward to a great weekend!
thank you all so so so much for your thoughts and prayers. they obviously worked and will continue to work in the future! thanks again. i don't know what i would do without them- and you.
until then,
