2 Chronicles 32:7

Be strong and courageous! Don't be afraid or discouraged...

...this is what i keep having to say to myself over and over. things have been kinda rough this week, but i'm trying to get through it. it is really really hard. but for now i think it is what needs to be done. i can see the light at the end of the tunnel. but it is SOOOO far away. and it feels like im going in super slow motion to get to it.

i went to vandy yesterday and had my blood drawn. in all i got stuck 3 times! ugh. once in the early morning when mom drew my blood. and then twice in the diabetes clinic because the first time he did it the blood wouldn't come out! he said my "main pipeline" was worn out. anyway. we didn't hear from the CF nurse until this morning about my results. my kidney functions were down-which is great news. she said she thought the reason they went up to begin with is because of the IV contrast they used in the ER. and that they thought it was okay to continue with the second antibiotic. the bad news was that my white blood count went UP! ugh. this means the antibiotics aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing and that the infection isn't being fought off. sooo they want to take me off that second antibiotic and replace it with a stronger oral version that is similar...except it cost $3ooo!!!!!! can you believe that? i was shocked. so they have to get a prior-approval for insurance before i will be able to get it. so it could be tomorrow or thursday before i can start taking it. this really sucks and is very discouraging. i've been on IVs for two weeks now and find out today they haven't been doing anything! i don't think i have ever been as discouraged as i was today... im trying stay positive. im trying to stay strong and fight through this...and i know with mine and your prayers it will get easier. i would just like some good news. that lasts more than five minutes. just keep praying that we will get some answers very soon from my bronch. and that they will find the culprit to what is making me feel bad and what this infection is so they can get rid of it and i will be back to my old self! i will keep you updated and let you know if the insurance agrees to pay for the antibiotic. hopefully i will know something tomorrow!

until then,

leigh allyn

Prayers:
~insurance will pay for the antibiotic
~that this is the right antibiotic and it can be started ASAP
~my white count goes down
~that i can stay strong physically and emotionally
