an evening in the ER

WARNING:
too much information may be disclosed in this post

well what an interesting 24 hours i have had. here's how it all began:

i had an AMAZING day sunday. i went to church, felt GREAT. had a great day staying inside out of the rain with my parents. got some things done that ive been trying to get to since ive started feeling better. i went to evening church and lori and kenny {who we haven't seen in ages} were visiting old hickory so we went to dinner with them and some other church "folk". had a GREAT time!!! it was so nice to catch up and talk for hours! i had a great dinner i felt GREAT...the best i have felt since all this has gone down... i went to bed and after about 2 hours of sleep i woke up not feeling too great. my stomach was killing me and i felt like i had a fever-but i didnt. when i woke up monday morning i was worse. mom thought it would be a good idea to run a few errands with her and see if that perked me up. i stayed in the car at all of her stops except kroger. while we were in kroger i started having severe stomach pains-where i was almost in tears. and i felt like i needed to potty {poo}. but didnt want to go in kroger {do you blame me?} so i wanted to wait till i got home. well by the time i got home my stomach was 10X worse but i didnt need to potty anymore. i fell asleep for about an hour, and when i woke up at 2 my stomach was KILLING me. so mom called dannette and dr. M wanted me to go straight to the ER. she said it could be anything. and i needed to be checked out in case it was serious; and the ER was the quickest way to get tests done. we got to the ER at about 3:30. i was in triage at 4 and they said "well the waiting room is a jungle {she was not exaggerating-ive never seen the ER waiting room like this before} and we are taking patients by severity. you are pretty high on the list so we will bring you back asap. but we have no rooms open right now". ugh. i did not feel like waiting with all of the crazy people with "sore throats and tooth aches" in the waiting room. plus, i cant sit around these people bc i could catch what they have. so i had to wear a mask and sit in the lobby in a wheelchair. which was fine, really, bc i didnt have to experience the crazies. SO at 5:00 i told mom i didnt have it in me to wait much longer. she told the receptionist who said there were 19 people in front of me!!!! heck no. im not waiting anymore. so mom told the nurse i wanted to sign the release form and go home...she was very sweet and said that there were 19 people in front of me but really there were only 2 that were in front of me who were more severe so i would be called back very soon. {make sense?} SO at 5:20 i told mom i was giving it 10 more minutes...and not 20 seconds later the sweet nurse ran into the lobby grabbed my wheel chair and wheeled me into a room!!! what an answer to a prayer. after getting to the room and having anti-nausea meds and morphine {which i find a very painful pain medicine-it causes me to tense my whole body for about 5 minutes} i finally relaxed and felt a little better...i think i talked my poor moms ear off. it made me very chatty. plus my nurse was HOT and i was giddy over him haha. we couldnt stop talking about him after every time he left my room. after xrays, examinations, ct scans and much discussion {the fact that i haven't poo'd in over 24 hours and that is VERY irregular for me} the ct scan showed i was full of poo and bc my colon isn't used to processing lots of poo {bc of the c diff} it couldn't move all the poo out. so basically im severely constipated. the dr {who i loved} told me i could stay over night if i wasn't comfortable going home- or i could go home...DUH. he wrote me a prescription for colace and sent me on my way. i was starving when we left and it was really late so we stopped at walgreens and got junk food!!! haha. we got home around 11 and watched heroes while eating our junk food. my tummy started hurting again so i had to take a pain pill and we went to bed.

this morning i woke up really really sore {tensing up from the morphine caused my muscles to ache} i have started getting resolved of my issues {you know what i mean} im feeling alot better this afternoon...and im really hoping the c diff is clearing up. we're trying to get a hold of dr S and talk to her about continuing the oral Vanc. until my symptoms of C Diff are gone. please pray she sees things the way we do. i dont think it is a good idea to stop the oral Vanc yet. hopefully we will hear from her soon.

until then,

leigh allyn

Prayers:
~my "issues" are resolved soon
~dr. S continues the Vanc.
~and the Vanc continues to clear the C Diff. quickly
