code orange

hello there friends. its been a little while since ive written. i kinda went on a hiatus. ive been fairly busy and fairly tired. rehab is keeping me on my toes tuesday through thursday. and friday through monday im catching up on things that didn't get done on rehab days. the past week has been rough. last week i had allergy issues. i never really have before, but my throat eyes and ears were killing me for about 7 days! i feel sorry for those who go through this year round. that combined with the extreme heat we've had has really been killer on me. this past tuesday was my hardest day at rehab yet. my sats dropped below 88 and i couldnt finish the treadmill or the bike. it was really frustrating. and it made me have a revelation. any time before now i would've thought i was have a exacerbation and i would've called the dr. but i have come to realize that if i keep on pushing myself i will feel better. i have also come to realize its not always me feeling bad because i have an infection- but that maybe there are other variables that are going to make my day a little more tough than the average joe. and on those days i will have to take extra precautions and push myself a little bit harder. mom and i also decided we needed to invest in a treadmill. because on the days that it is 95 degrees outside and the humidity is 99% im not going to be able to walk around the block or make it to the gym. so we've been searching and it just so happened our neighbor was having a garage sell and wanted to get rid of her {practically new, rarely been used} treadmill! mom made a deal with her and got it at a very reasonable price! YAY!! so now i can keep on top of things. this is great.

today i look outside and see how beautiful it really is. oh how i wish i could go out there. i watched the weather this morning and the high today is 93 with 98% humidity and an air quality alert of ORANGE. basically this means i need to stay inside at all times. i went outside briefly this morning while it was still reasonably warm-not hot-and i came back in huffing and puffing needing my oxygen stat. so im going to stay in, take it easy, and not take my AC for granted.

until then,

leigh allyn
